This site provides access to basic information about the purpose of the guaranty association and how it protects resident policyholders in the event an insurance company becomes insolvent.

The 2024 Member meeting will be held August 16, 2024 in Big Sky, Montana. Members will receive official notice of the meeting by email with information about how to attend at least 90 days before the meeting. The Annual Board of Directors meeting with be held in conjunction with the Member meeting on the same date and in the same place.
The Association generally calls a Class A assessment every OTHER year in even numbered years. In the event a Class B assessment is necessary at a different time a Class A assessment may be called at the same time as a Class B assessment.
The Montana Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association sends notices and assessment invoices to Members only by email. It is members’ responsibility to keep the various state guaranty associations up to date on their email addresses for Association notices and assessment purposes. Members can easily update those addresses for Montana and other state associations by going to
