This site provides access to basic information about the purpose of the guaranty association and how it protects resident policyholders in the event an insurance company becomes insolvent.

Class A Assessment Schedule

The Association generally calls a Class A assessment every OTHER year in even numbered years. In the event a Class B assessment is necessary at a different time a Class A assessment may be called at the same time as a Class B assessment.

NOTICE TO MEMBERS - Member Contact Information

The Montana Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association now sends notices and assessment invoices to Members by email. It is members’ responsibility to keep the various state guaranty associations up to date on their email addresses for Association notices and assessment purposes. This can be done by contacting each Association with any changes to contact information, or by using the National Organization of Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Associations form where members can choose all the states for which they wish to provide new contact information.

Liquidation Orders Entered for Penn Treaty & American Network Insurance Companies

On March 1, 2017, Penn Treaty Network America Insurance Company (Penn Treaty) and its wholly owned subsidiary, American Network Insurance Company (ANIC), were placed in liquidation by orders of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
